The course covers the historical background of X-rays, radiation physics, biology, radiation protection, infection control, dental X-ray machine components, dental film, digital receptor, anatomical landmarks, bitewings, periapical exposures, processing and mounting films, and identifying and correcting exposure or processing errors. Course Description: The Preceptorship Program in Periodontology is intended for graduates of dental schools outside of the United States and Canada. The program offers a didactic training as well as clinical exposure and observation. The Preceptorship in Periodontology is a full time program. Prospective students will participate in lectures, seminars and hands on activities along with the postgraduate residents. Clinical activities are limited to observation and assistance in the planning and execution of non-surgical and surgical procedures.
