18th Annual Oncology Update: Advances and Controversies is organized by The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center and will be held from Jan 17 - 20, 2020 at Steamboat Grand, Steamboat Springs, Colorado, United States of America. Target Audience: This program will be of interest to surgical oncologists, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, diagnostic radiologists, pathologists, resident trainees, primary care physicians, advanced care practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, fellows, and residents involved in oncologic care. Goal: This educational conference will address the advances and controversies in the care of patients with various malignancies through interactive presentations by experts in different oncology disciplines including surgical oncology, medical oncology, radiation oncology, pathology, radiology, cancer screening/prevention, and symptom management. The management of solid tumors and hematologic malignancies continues to evolve and clinicians needs to stay abreast of developments that positively impact patient care and outcomes. Previously-accepted standards are continuously being re-examined and new advances are being incorporated into the care of oncology patients. At the end of this activity, healthcare professionals caring for cancer patients in different stages will be able to assess and utilize therapies and be knowledgeable of the preclinical and clinical data supporting the development and integration of new therapies into practice and be able to measure the clinical effectiveness and outcomes of treatment modalities. Educational Objectives: After attending the conference, participants should be able to • Interpret and incorporate the novel therapies in the treatment for solid tumors including Breast Cancer, Gastrointestinal Cancer, Lung Cancer, Head and Neck Cancr, Genitourinary Cancer, and Melanoma (Utilize an appropriate sequence for surgical, radiation and chemotherapeutic intervention into the treatment of head & neck cancer, gastrointestinal malignancies, melanoma, lung cancer, breast cancer, lung cancer, sarcoma, and genitourinary cancers (Knowledge, Competence, Performance); • Describe and apply an optimal treatment approach when given patient scenarios representing a range of disease stages, clinical presentations and comorbidities (Knowledge, Competence, Performance, Patient Outcomes); • Incorporate preventive, screening and symptom control modalities in oncology care (Knowledge, Competence, Performance) • Identify patients who will appropriately benefit from novel therapies in the treatment of solid tumors (Knowledge); • Utilize the different surgical, radiation, and systemic treatments including immunotherapies and molecular-targeted therapies for cancers at varying stages of disease (Knowledge, Competence). Annual OSHA Training and Compliance Seminars for Dental Professionals: Spring 2020 Retraining Seminar is organized by Kim Laudenslager and will be held on Apr 10, 2020 at Bud Werner Memorial Library, Steamboat Springs, Colorado, United States of America. This Course has been approved for a maximum of 4 CE Credits. Course Description: These seminars are designed for dental professionals who need INITIAL and/or RETRAINING. The courses will be a fast paced review of material OSHA requires for annual training. In addition, the most current information available on infection control procedures, infectious diseases and product reviews will be presented. Individuals who have not had previous training are encouraged to attend one of the initial training seminars. Handouts and resource information will be provided at the course for all participants. In addition to attending this seminar, each office will need to conduct a staff meeting sometime following the course to complete and customize their training program. Course Synopsis & Objectives: Current information on infection control procedures, infectious diseases and product reviews will be presented. Topics covered will include; CDC recommended infection control guidelines in dentistry, CDC guidelines for hand hygiene in health care settings, review of exposure incident protocol, record keeping protocol and infectious waste disposal guidelines.
