Management of Adults with Neuromotor Disorders: An Introductory Seminar is organized by Neuro-Developmental Treatment Association (NDTA) and will be held from Mar 09 - 10, 2019 at University of Arkansas Cossatot Community College, Ashdown, Arkansas, United States of America. Target Audience: PTs, OTs, SLPs, PTAs, OTAs Continuing Education: 14.00 Continuing Education Hours will be awarded upon successful completion of this NDTA/Bobath approved seminar. 14.00 Continuing Education Hours are available towards NDT Re-Certification. Host state PT CEUs will be available from the NDTA. ASHA CEUs: This program is offered for 1.4 ASHA CEUs (Introductory Level; Professional Area). Course Objectives: Course participants will learn to: • Understand basic principles underlying the NDT approach, including best practices in neuro rehabilitation • Use the ICF framework in developing treatment strategies to address impairments, activity limitations, and participation restrictions in life roles • Analyze movement in common functional activities • Demonstrate basic handling skills and variations in treatment options that teach clients to solve movement problems as they engage in their goal-oriented tasks • Integrate knowledge of anatomy, kinesiology, neuroplasticity, motor learning, and function in designing the most effective treatment plan Course Description: This seminar will provide participants with current information about NDT, best practices in neuro rehabilitation, and review core NDT principles. Lecture, lab, demonstration, task analysis, problem-solving, and experiential learning will help participants improve their assessment and treatment skills for adults with neuromotor disorders. This practical hands-on training is important and relevant for all professions and practice settings in order to produce the most optimal outcomes.
