Vladimir P. Zharov is a Professor and Director of the Arkansas Nanomedicine Center with the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, USA. He is one of the pioneers of high resolution photoacoustic spectroscopy, photoacoustic tweezers, nanobubble-based theranostics of cancer and infections, and in vivo photoacoustic flow cytometry. He is the author of five books, 54 patents, and more than 200 papers in the field of laser spectroscopy, biophotonics, and nanomedicine including nine publications in the Nature family journals. Dr. Zharov is the State Prize Winner, the most prestigious national award in Russia, and the first recipient of the U.S. Maiman Award named after the inventor of the first laser.
