Susan is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire and has been a registered Occupational Therapist since 1979. Her career has included work in rehab settings, acute care hospitals, burn units and private practice. She has specialized in hand therapy since 1985, became a Certified Hand Therapist in 1994 and joined Stanford Health Care in 2006. Her expertise is in treating sports injuries, tendon repairs, traumatic hand injuries, scleroderma and arthritis.

Susan often lectures at state conferences and review courses. She presented a poster at the ASHT Annual Meeting in 2011 and 2017, was a member of the 2012 ASHT Annual Meeting committee and coordinated the 2013 ASHT Hand Therapy Review Course at Stanford. She coauthored “Hand Therapy Modalities for Proximal Interphalangeal Joint Stiffness” for the Journal of Hand Surgery and has been a contributing editor to the Year Book of Hand and Upper Limb Surgery.

Susan has been involved with the California Chapter of ASHT since its inception, serving as Treasurer, Vice President, Conference Co-Chair and Education Chair. She now serves on the Education Committee for the Hand Therapy Association of California. The Scleroderma Foundation Northern California Chapter and the Bay Area support group have both invited Sue as a guest speaker.
