Dr. Sherry Lovan has served as the BSN Program Coordinator in the School of Nursing since Fall 2012. Her educational background includes an Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) degree, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree, and a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree from Western Kentucky University. In 2009, she earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Educational Administration and Organizational Leadership from the University of Louisville/WKU. She received the Outstanding Dissertation Award for her dissertation titled, "Comparing Perceptions of the Nursing Profession Among Associate and Baccalaureate Nursing Students and Registered Nurses" from the College of Education and Behavioral Sciences.

Dr. Lovan began her career as a nurse educator at WKU as a part-time clinical instructor. In 2004, she joined the BSN Program faculty and taught in several courses including Obstetrics, Pediatrics, Health Assessment, Mental Health, Community Health, and Health Promotion and Disease Prevention. She currently coordinates and team teaches the Nursing Leadership, Management, and Professional Issues course in the last semester of the program.
