Scot Garg is a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust, Blackburn. He qualified from Manchester University in 1999 and completed his training in PCI in 2008. Between 2008-2010 he undertook research at the Thoraxcentre, Rotterdam leading to his Ph.D., which was awarded cum laude in 2011 for his thesis, "Risk Stratification in Patients Undergoing PCI". Prior to taking up his consultant post, he worked as an interventional fellow at the University Hospitals of North Staffordshire. He gained a fellowship from the ESC in 2011 and a fellowship from the Royal College of Physicians in 2015. He has published >100 papers in peer-reviewed journals He continues to be involved with clinical research with his main interests being radial access, risk stratification, and coronary stents.
