S. Rob Todd, M.D., FACS, FCCM, associate professor of surgery at Baylor College of Medicine, has been appointed Chief of the Section of Acute Care Surgery. Dr. Todd also serves as program director of the Surgical Critical Care Residency at Baylor College of Medicine and chief of General Surgery, director of the Ginni and Richard Mithoff Trauma Center, and medical director of the Trauma Surgical Intensive Care Unit at Ben Taub Hospital. He received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance from The University of Texas at Austin in 1992.
He then matriculated from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine with a Doctorate of Medicine in 1996. He remained in the Texas Tech University system where he completed his General Surgery residency in 2001. He followed that with a Fellowship in Trauma and Surgical Critical Care from Oregon Health & Science University in 2003. He has extensive experience in Acute Care Surgery, having past academic appointments at McGovern Medical School (UT Medical School at Houston), Houston Methodist / Weill Cornell Medical College, and New York University School of Medicine.
