Roberto Cardarelli has extensive experience in health care administration in positions as chairman and medical director in both academic and hospital medical group settings. His research expertise spans from chronic disease states and management, patient-centered medical home models, mental health, cancer prevention, and comparative effectiveness research.

Dr. Cardarelli has over forty publications and a significant grant portfolio and has presented both nationally and internationally. He has received funding from the National Institutes of Health, Meadows Foundation, Human Resources Services Administration, Pfizer, Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas, and others. He serves as a reviewer for numerous peer-reviewed journals and has functioned as an associate editor and issue editor for past journals.

Dr. Cardarelli earned a BS is Microcellular Biology from the University of California, Davis, DO and MPH degrees from the UNT Health Science Center, and completed a residency in Family Medicine at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians and a diplomat of the American Board of Family Medicine. He is dual board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians.
