Robert DePompolo, M.D., is an Assistant Professor of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, with a subspecialty in Lymphedema, Cancer Rehabilitation, and Brain Injury. He previously led the department as Chair from 1991 until 2002. He also has served as Medical Director of the Hospital Consult Service and Director of the Traumatic Brain Injury Rehabilitation Program. Dr. DePompolo has presented as an expert across the United States, Portugal, and South Korea. He most often speaks about Rehabilitation in the setting of Lymphedema, Brain Injuries, and Cancer Rehabilitation.

During his time in the department of PM&R, Dr. DePompolo has been an integral part of the Resident and Fellow Program. He wrote a chapter in the Mayo Medical School textbook, contributed to curricular development, and routinely teaches brain and musculoskeletal courses. He participates in the PM&R Resident and Fellowship program, giving valuable hands-on educational opportunities, shadowing time, and one-on-one mentorship to many residents and fellows every year.
