Dr. R. Scott Dingeman is an Assistant Professor of Pediatric Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine and Program Director for the Pediatric Anesthesiology Fellowship at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. His areas of clinical expertise are pediatric anesthesiology, pediatric regional anesthesiology, and pediatric pain management.

Dr. Dingeman received his undergraduate degree in psychobiology from Occidental College in Los Angeles. He returned to his home state of Michigan where he earned is MD from Michigan State University College of Human Medicine in East Lansing and Grand Rapids. He completed his residency in anesthesiology New York Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center in Manhattan, and subsequently finished his pediatric anesthesiology fellowship at Boston Children’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School.

Dr. Dingeman’s research has focused on the use of regional anesthesiology techniques to reduce opioid consumption in children undergoing surgery. His recent research interests focus on using these same techniques to improve the quality of life in children living with life-threatening illnesses.
