Professor Dato’ Dr. Ravindran Jegasothy is currently the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, MAHSA University, Kuala Lumpur. He graduated with the MBBS from the University of Malaya and currently is a Fellow of the Royal College of O&G, London. He has a Masters in O&G from the National University of Singapore and is a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine of Malaysia as well as the Indian Academy of Medical Sciences. He was awarded the Fellowship of the Academy of Science, Malaysia in 2018. He received the Distinguished Community Service Award by the International Federation of Gynaecology and Obstetrics (FIGO) in 2003. His main focus has been on the reduction of maternal mortality.
He has published extensively in many journals and has served previously on many technical committees of the Ministry of Health including the National Gazettment Committee, National Credentialing Committee as well as on the National Drug Committee. He currently serves on the Senate of MAHSA University. He was the MMA representative to the Patient Safety Council of Malaysia. He served for many years on the committee of the Malaysian Society of Quality in Health. He is also a surveyor with the International Society of Quality in Healthcare (ISQua). He is listed as an ISQua Expert.
