Dr. Raffaella Margherita Milani is a Chartered Psychologist and Course Leader for Substance Use and Misuse Studies (undergraduate and postgraduate level).
She is a member of the British Psychological Society, Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and member of the Federation of Drug and Alcohol Professionals.
Her main area of research has been the effects of ecstasy polydrug use on mental well-being. She also published in the areas of gender differences, binge drinking, and sexual behavior. In recent years her consultancy and research work has shifted towards the evaluation of applied interventions, in particular for people with co-morbid substance misuse and mental illness.
She has extensive experience in curriculum and workforce development in the drug and alcohol sector and has been involved in the consultation for the development of NICE Guidelines on the topics of drug misuse and coexisting mental health and substance misuse problems.
