Professor Noriyuki Tomiyama is the Chairman of the Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology, Graduate School of Medicine, Osaka University. He obtained both his MD and Ph.D. at the same university. He is a member of a few societies in radiology and has been active in scientific and academic programs locally and internationally. His affiliations include the Radiological Society of North America, Fleischner Society, Japan Radiological Society (JRS), and Japanese Society of Thoracic Radiology (JSTR).
He is a board member of JRS and the President of JSTR. Prof. Tomiyama has published 233 articles and a book chapter on chest imaging. He was awarded the “Year Book of Diagnostic Radiology” prize in 2001. His current researches include in-depth studies on lung cancer, mediastinal tumors, interstitial pneumonia, and computer-assisted diagnosis.
