Martin Bell

Martin Bell is a Professor at the University of Sussex, Brighton, England, United Kingdom. He was originally trained as a historian and economist, and joined SPRU in 1968, working originally on technical change and its implications for skills in the UK engineering industry. An opportunity to lead a project in Thailand in the early 1970s led to his subsequent career in research, teaching, and policy consultancy concerned with technology and industrialization - mainly in Asia and Latin America. His research has centered on four interconnected sets of policy and management issues.
