Mark A. Kliewer MD, MHSC

Dr. Kliewer's research is been on the application of advanced ultrasound imaging techniques to problems of tissue characterization and the pathophysiology of blood flow. His principle contributions to the medical literature have been in the field of obstetrical ultrasound and vascular Doppler ultrasound. In the field of obstetrical ultrasound, his research has concentrated primarily on the identification and characterization of fetal malformations. In the field of Doppler ultrasound, his focus has been on analyses of the spectral waveforms in both normal and abnormal hemodynamic states. Currently, Dr. Kliewer is collaborating with colleagues in the Department of Medical Physics on clinical applications for tissue characterization techniques such as backscatter analysis and elastography.
