Margaret A. E. Jarvis MD, DFASAM

Margaret Jarvis, MD, is a practicing psychiatrist and chief of addiction services for Geisinger Addiction Medicine and the Geisinger Neuroscience Institute. Dr. Jarvis received her medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia. She completed her psychiatry residency and addiction medicine fellowship at the same institution. Dr. Jarvis is board certified in addiction medicine by the American Board of Preventive Medicine, and in addiction psychiatry and psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She is the vice president and the chair of the Quality Improvement Council for the American Society of Addiction Medicine. In her role as the clinical lead in the expansion of Geisinger’s treatment for patients with opiate use disorder, as well as other substance use disorders, Dr. Jarvis has emphasized the need for quality treatment for these patients.
