Lami Yeo, MD is an Associate Professor, Director of Fetal Cardiology at the Perinatology Research Branch (PRB) of NICHD/NIH/DHHS, and Director of the PRB/Detroit Medical Center/Wayne State University Maternal-Fetal Medicine Fellowship Program. She has worked in the fields of ultrasound and fetal cardiology for 17 years. She joined the Branch after directing the Perinatal Ultrasound Unit and Fetal Cardiovascular Unit at UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (New Jersey). Dr. Yeo is currently a Fellow of the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM) and serves on the AIUM Board of Governors. She previously served as Chair of the AIUM Fetal Echocardiography Community of Practice, and Section Leader for the Fetal Cardiology Scientific Forum at the Society for Maternal Fetal Medicine (SMFM). Dr. Yeo has been the Course Chair or Course Co-Director of ultrasound and fetal echocardiography Courses at both national and international meetings, and has been the Program Course Director for 15 courses in either ultrasound or fetal cardiology. She is the recipient of 3 Teaching Excellence Awards at the Perinatology Research Branch.

Dr. Yeo has authored over 140 peer-reviewed publications, is the first author of 15 book chapters and co-author of 8 additional chapters in the fields of ultrasound, fetal cardiology, or Maternal-Fetal Medicine. Due to her involvement in fetal cardiology, she has also contributed to 5 media presentations produced by the AIUM. Dr. Yeo has developed and published novel fetal cardiac algorithms using four-dimensional sonography; one such method to examine the fetal heart has led to the filing of a patent through the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, in which she is a co-inventor.
