Dr. Kelan Tantisira is a physician at Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH). He is also an associate professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School.

He received his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He then completed a residency in internal medicine and pediatrics at Los Angeles County/ University of Southern California Medical Center, followed by fellowships in medical education at the University of Hawaii and in pulmonary disease at BWH. He also completed fellowships in pediatric pulmonology and pulmonary and critical care at Massachusetts General Hospital.

Dr. Tantisira’s research examines the epidemiology and pharmacogenetics of asthma. He is currently part of several collaborative studies of the relationship of birth weight and obesity to asthma, the genomics of normal lung development with respect to disease susceptibility and the natural history of asthma. He has authored over 120 peer-reviewed publications, is on the editorial board of the Journal of Pharmacogenomics and Pharmacoproteomics and has received funding from the National Institutes of Health.
