Biography :

Dr. Ruddy, of Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, is looking forward to receiving training as a KL2 scholar that will help her perform research that improves the care of cancer patients.

Her goal is to improve the quality of life of cancer survivors by studying and making clinically actionable discoveries about important survivorship issues using genetic epidemiology. She is investigating genetic and biomarker predictors of toxicity in cancer patients.

Using stored specimens and clinical data from large clinical trials to evaluate predictors of chemotherapy-related amenorrhea in young women with breast cancer, she aims to inform decision-making about cancer treatments and fertility preservation techniques by helping women better understand their risks of infertility after chemotherapy.

Dr. Ruddy's goal is to establish a framework for studying critical survivorship concerns in patients with a variety of cancers so that oncologic treatments and symptom management can be tailored to meet individual needs.

Dr. Ruddy says Mayo Clinic offers exceptional support for clinical and translational research, including world-class patient care, laboratories and mentorship.
