Joshua P. Smith PhD, MPH

Dr. Joshua Smith received his doctorate in clinical psychology from Suffolk University and a Masters in Public Health from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. He began working at Burlington Psychological in 2009 and provides individual, couples, and family psychotherapy. Dr. Smith has worked in a variety of treatment settings including inpatient, outpatient, and school settings. Dr. Smith has specialized training in trauma counseling, behavioral interventions, chronic pain, biofeedback, and severe and persistent mental illness in addition to working with general mental health concerns including depression, anxiety, relationships, and adjustment issues. Dr. Smith’s public health degree focused on community health education, program development, and group dynamics. He has developed and coordinated teambuilding retreats within academic and professional settings. His doctoral research involved working with cancer survivors, as well as childhood emotional development. Dr. Smith currently holds an academic appointment at Harvard Medical School.
