John Agapian, M.D., joined the UC Riverside School of Medicine as an assistant clinical professor in 2014 and is now an Associate Professor. He was director of surgical ICU in the department of General Surgery at Riverside University Health System Medical Center. Dr. Agapian previously taught as an assistant professor of surgery at the Loma Linda University.
< br/> In 2016, Dr. Agapian was inducted as a Fellow of the exclusive American College of Critical Care Medicine. He has served as Chair of the Society of Critical Care Medicine's neuroscience section and sits on committees of many national organizations including the Ammerican Association for the Surgery of Trauma, Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma, Society of Critical Care Medicine, American College of Chest Physicians, and the American College of Surgeons.

He earned his B.Sc. in Biochemistry from UCLA, then went on to attend The Chicago Medical School - part of the Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science - to earn his M.D. and conduct his residency. He returned to Southern California for his Trauma/Critical Care training at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
