Joan M. Davis MD, MS, BS

Professor Davis (formerly Jakse) is internationally known for her research and educational activities in the area of Tobacco Dependence Education (TDE) and is the developer/administrator of the open source Tobacco Free! Curriculum© http://tobaccofree.siu.edu . Her collaborations extend to Finland, Italy, Switzerland, Slovenia, Ireland and Canada and was designated as a Fulbright Scholar Specialist (2012-2017). Dr. Davis has authored Oral Care of Cancer Patients in Dental Hygiene Theory & Practice Darby & Walsh (2014) as well as Tobacco Cessation in Primary Preventive Dentistry (2014).
