Jo Stecher, PhD, RN has been a nurse for over 35 years. She was the Lung Transplant Coordinator at Langone New York University Medical Center, covering liver and kidney as well. After moving to Fort Myers, Florida, in 2001, she joined the faculty of the School of Nursing at Florida Gulf Coast University, becoming the Assistant Director of the BSN Program. She teaches in both the undergraduate and graduate programs, focusing on gerontology, end of life issues, and nursing education strategies. Jo is a member of various university and college committees, an advisory board member of the Alvin A. Dubin Alzheimer’s Resource Center, and a member of the Board of Directors at Page Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Fort Myer. Jo lives with her two standard poodles and they live with two Siamese cats.
