Jillian Dempsey joined the BWH Pharmacy team as a PGY-1 resident after receiving Doctor of Pharmacy degree from MCPHS University in 2014. Following completion of her PGY-1 residency and becoming a board-certified pharmacotherapy specialist, she continued on to her PGY-2 training in Transitions of Care (TOC). Over the next 2 years, she worked precepting pharmacy students, serving as a residency preceptor for PGY-1 and PGY-2 residents completing their general cardiology rotations, and has been the department’s liaison and coordinator for pharmacy students completing clinical rotations at BWH. In addition to her cardiology assignments, Jillian also supports general medicine services, the emergency department, and our ambulatory heart failure clinic. For the past several years Jillian has been involved in the PGY-1 residency application review process, serves as an editor for the P&T Newsletter, co-coordinates the Mentor-Mentee Program and has presented several CEU programs. More recently, Jillian has worked to support a BCRISP granted project focused on improving medication access and discharge planning for cardiology patients on high-risk medications. She continues to focus her work on quality improvement initiatives designed to streamline the care transitions process, decrease healthcare utilization/costs, and improve the quality and safety of patient care.
