Dr. Jennifer B. Marks, MD, is Section Chief for Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism and the Medical Director for the Diabetes Management Program at the Miami VA Medical Center in Miami, FL. Dr. Marks is also a Professor of Medicine and Chief of the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism at the University of Miami School of Medicine. She received her medical degree and completed her residency in Internal Medicine and a fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism at the University of Miami School of Medicine. She previously earned a BS in Nursing from the University of Southern Maine and completed the requirements as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner at the University of Miami.

Dr. Marks is board-certified both in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism. She is a fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP) and the American College of Endocrinology (FACE). Dr. Marks is also a Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE). She is a principal investigator in the NIH-funded multicenter "Diabetes TrialNet" - a consortium of researchers investigating interventions for the prevention or delay of type 1 diabetes. Dr. Marks is also a principal investigator in the national VA Diabetes Study, "Glycemic Control and Complications in Diabetes - Type 2." She is the past president of the American Diabetes Association South Coastal Region and is currently Editor-in-Chief of Clinical Diabetes, an ADA publication. Dr. Marks serves on the editorial boards of numerous diabetes-related journals, is a reviewer for several general medical journals, and has been an invited speaker at a variety of national and international meetings on diabetes and obesity.
