Dr. Ioannis Lykakis studied chemistry at the University of Crete (1997), Greece and after obtaining his Ph.D. from the same University in 2003, he did postdoctoral research at the CNR in Bologna, Italy, under Marie Curie Network fellow, with the supervision of Dr. Chryssostomos Chatgilialoglu. In 2011 he was appointed as a Lecturer at the Department of Chemistry of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in Greece, where he is currently an Associate Professor.

He has contributed to 3 book chapters in international scientific books, 1 scientific book as editor, 2 book chapters in Organic Chemistry Book, and 1 book as Co-Editor of the book “Introduction to Spectroscopy”. He has also coordinated two special issues, the “Noble Metal Nanoparticles in Catalysis” in Nanomaterials (ISSN 2079-4991), and the “Photocatalysis and Free Radicals in Organic Synthesis” in Organics (ISSN 2673-401X).

He is member of the American Chemical Society and of the Editorial Board of Organics-MDPI and Αssociate Εditor at Frontiers Green and Sustainable Chemistry.
