Biography :

Dr. Elissa Palmer, a professor, and chair of the UNLV School of Medicine Department of Family and Community Medicine is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians. With research interests that include Marfan syndrome, a genetic disorder of the connective tissue, and the development of medical genetics computer programs, she has published articles in publications that include Academic Medicine, the Journal of Genetic Counseling and Physician Leadership Journal.

Dr. Palmer has received grants to study obesity, osteoporosis, and colonoscopy within the family medicine framework. At the University of London School of Medicine in England, she delivered a presentation on “Primary Care in the U.S.: Focus on Family Medicine.” She received her medical degree from the John Hopkins University School of Medicine and completed a residency in family medicine from the University of Wisconsin.
