Dr. Ekta Kapoor is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota. She is a board-certified endocrinologist and menopause specialist and is the Associate Director of Mayo Clinic Women’s Health. Dr. Kapoor has a strong research focus on menopause and hormone therapy.

She leads several important studies in the field, including serving as the project lead for the clinical core of the Specialized Center of Research Excellence (SCORE) on sex differences from the Office of Research on Women’s Health and the National Institute on Aging. She is a co-investigator on a large NIH-funded multicenter trial, the Kronos Early Estrogen Prevention Continuation study. She leads a benefactor-funded randomized placebo-controlled trial investigating the effect of estrogen dosing on cardiovascular disease risk parameters in women undergoing oophorectomy at a young age.

Dr. Kapoor is recognized as an institutional and national expert and leader in menopause. She speaks at national meetings on topics related to menopause and hormone therapy and has published extensively in the field. She leads the Practice Pearl Task Force and serves on the editorial board of the journal Menopause from the North American Menopause Society.
