Efstratios (Stratos) Koutroumpakis, MD is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Department of Cardiology. Dr. Koutroumpakis completed his internal medicine residency at Albany Medical College (2018) and cardiovascular disease fellowship training at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston (2021). During his training, he served as a chief medical resident and chief cardiology fellow and he received numerous clinical and research awards. In 2019 he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society (Delta Chapter of Texas).
Efstratios joined MD Anderson Cancer Center in July of 2021. Dr. Koutroumpakis is six times board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, Echocardiography, Vascular Ultrasonography, Cardiovascular Computed Tomography, and Nuclear Cardiology. His research focuses on the cardiovascular disease of patients with prostate cancer, cardiac AL amyloidosis, radiation-induced cardiovascular disease, and doxorubicin-induced cardiomyopathy.
