David Line Denali is an Assistant Professor at the University of New England. He received his Ph.D. from the University of New Mexico in health, physical education, and recreation in 2004. His professional experience has been in behavioral health, emergency preparedness, and public administration. His introduction to public health was to run a youth oriented search and rescue team for youth at risk for the Arizona Supreme Court for 20 years. With his experience running a volunteer team and providing incident command services for the New Mexico State Police, he was asked to be the Public Health Emergency Preparedness Division Manager at the county level. With his interest in environmental issues, policy, and financial management expanding into other public health areas was a natural fit. Currently, he is working on Healthy People 2030 objectives and targets associated with water conservation in the United States.
