Biography :

Dr. Christian T. Ruff specializes in cardiovascular medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH) and is an assistant professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School (HMS). Dr. Ruff received his medical degree from The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He then completed a residency in internal medicine, as well as clinical and research fellowships in cardiovascular disease at BWH. Dr. Ruff is board certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease.

Dr. Ruff conducts research and is an investigator at the Thrombolysis in Myocardial Infarction (TIMI) Study Group, where he has led a broad array of projects, ranging from investigator-initiated studies of biomarkers and genetic variants to large international clinical trials testing novel therapies for cardiovascular disease. He serves as the director of the Genetics Core Laboratory and co-chairman of the Clinical Events Committee. Dr. Ruff has received research funding from the National Institute of Health, has been invited to deliver hundreds of lectures nationally and internationally, and is on the writing committee for practice guidelines.
