Dr. Gonzalez is board certified in clinical psychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology and is credentialed with the National Register of Health Service Psychologists. He is dedicated to the goal of reducing suffering and promoting mental and physical health among individuals from diverse backgrounds who often feel marginalized or misunderstood.

Dr. Gonzalez's expertise includes implementing psychological and behavioral science and practice into primary care; clinical health psychology through the assessment and management of psychosomatic symptoms and illness anxiety; and provides psychological assessments, care, and empowerment to sexual and gender diverse individuals. He also disseminates an evidence-based behavioral health curriculum to family medicine and psychiatry residents and promotes their wellness and professional development.

Dr. Gonzalez's clinical training, research, and program evaluation expertise and experience include primary care psychology, behavioral medicine, HIV prevention, severe mental illness, schema therapy, human sexuality, and personality disorders. He is a former faculty member of the University of Minnesota Medical School (Program in Human Sexuality in Family Medicine) and is nationally recognized by the American Board of Professional Psychology for his dedication to multiculturalism and diversity in the field of professional psychology.
