Biography :

Caroline Chiles is Professor of Cardiothoracic Imaging at the Wake Forest Baptist Health Center and Comprehensive Cancer Center, and chair of the Thoracic Imaging Committee for the Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group –American College of Radiology Imaging Network (ECOG-ACRIN). Following undergraduate studies in mechanical engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, Massachusetts, she completed medical school at Duke University School of Medicine in Durham, North Carolina. In 1984, she completed her internship and residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Stanford University Hospital in Palo Alto, California, and returned to Duke University for her fellowship in Cardiothoracic Imaging. She remained as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Radiology at Duke University Medical Center through 1990 and then joined the faculty at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, Virginia as an Associate Professor.
