Dr. Carole Baraldi, M.D., is an associate professor in the Division of Geriatrics. She is board certified in Geriatrics, Hospice, and Palliative Medicine. She also is a Certified Medical Director for Long Term and Skilled Nursing Care. Her clinical interests include care of older adults in long-term care, assisted living care, home care, and palliative and end-of-life care especially in those with cognitive impairment. Dr. Baraldi is also the program director for the Geriatric Fellowship program and a core faculty member for the School of Medicine Clinical Methods course. She is committed to educating future geriatricians and physicians to meet the great demand for quality care of older adults.

Dr. Baraldi received her M.D. degree from The Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. She completed her residency in internal medicine at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. She received specialty training in geriatrics from the University of Utah School of Medicine. After completing her training in 2000, Dr. Baraldi worked in the Salt Lake City community in skilled nursing care, hospice care and primary care geriatrics. In 2009 she returned to an academic career to increase her efforts in teaching. She is currently a member of the American Geriatric Society and the American Medical Directors Association. She is the medical director at the William E. Christofferson Salt Lake Veterans home.
