Brocha Stern has an occupational therapist and certified hand therapist skilled in outpatient orthopedic rehabilitation. Currently, I am a PhD candidate in the Department of Occupational Therapy at NYU Steinhardt. My clinical and research interests center on a holistic approach to musculoskeletal health with an emphasis on the upper extremity. My dissertation specifically applies a conceptual model of self-management to recovery after distal radius fracture. More generally,

Brocha Stern is a passionate about knowledge development and translation to increase the value and quality of services for the prevention and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal conditions and their sequelae. I am excited by the potential of quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods research to pursue client-centered excellence and innovation in health care for those living with musculoskeletal conditions. In the future, I would like to blend large-scale health services research with more intimate person-centered research to assess and extend the value and quality of rehabilitation services on both macro and micro levels.
