Dr. Jackson is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine and Associate Director of the Immunogenetics Laboratory at Johns Hopkins University. She has worked in the field of histocompatibility and transplant immunology for more than 20 years. She began her career in histocompatibility at the University of Minnesota in the Immunobiology Research Center. She received her Ph.D. in Immunology at Duke University in 2005, investigating the role of epigenetics in controlling T cell receptor VDJ gene rearrangement. She has been involved in both clinical and basic science research and has had extensive experience in molecular biology and cellular assays. Her current research has focused on the role of non-HLA endothelial cell reactive antibodies in kidney allograft injury. She has published on transplantation topics including microchimerism, incompatible kidney transplantation, and paired kidney donation.
