Ana Maria Medina, the MD a graduate of the Universidad Central de Venezuela, then completed a Residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, followed by Hematology and Cytology fellowships at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC. She joined the faculty at MUSC, closely working with residents and fellows, stimulating their interest in hematopathology, which has continued since she came back to Florida where she joined the Mount Sinai Medical Center team. As an Assistant Professor at MUSC and now at the Florida International University, Dr. Medina teaches Hematology to the students of the College of Medicine. Dr. Medina has experience in Surgical Pathology, and Cytopathology, and specializes in lymph node and bone marrow diseases. She has a number of honors and awards including the Award for Exceptional Instruction to Resident Teaching from MUSC. She has published multiple research papers and has presented at several national and international meetings.
