Austrian Medical Association / Osterreichischen Arztekammer (OAK)

Wien, Wien, Austria

According to the Medical Act, the Austrian Medical Association (OAK) represents the common professional, social and economic interests of all physicians working in Austria. It ensures the respect of the reputation, the rights and the compliance with the duties of the doctors. Its members are the nine chambers of state physicians, whose public-sector umbrella organization is the Austrian Medical Association.

The OAK pays special attention to a socially oriented, modern health care system for all people, by physicians and doctors in private practice. Our doctors are committed to a high level of medical care, with particular emphasis on ongoing quality management to increase patient safety. Basis and goal of the medical activity is the assistance for patients. This is the central medical guiding principle, behind which all political and economic considerations resign.
