The AAM founded in 1948, is a non-profit institution that brings together professionals dedicated to the practice of the specialty, distributed throughout the country and abroad.

Contribute to the growth and hierarchy of microbiology, as a branch of science.

• bring together and link people interested in the various branches of microbiology;
• promote the common good by spreading knowledge and advising the community in general, on this subject;
• organize congresses, conferences and scientific meetings;
• award prizes for stimuli destined to authors of outstanding scientific works;
• establish subsidiaries in the territory of the Republic, in the places and opportunities deemed convenient.
