This online course features a panel of experts in breast imaging and breast surgery discussing the latest opinions on the controversial utilization of preoperative breast MRI in newly diagnosed breast cancer patients to determine the extent of disease evaluation from experts in breast imaging and breast surgery.

Upon completion of this program, you will be able to: gain an understanding of the current issues and controversies involving breast MRI utilization in preoperative, newly diagnosed breast cancer patients; review the current literature regarding the benefits and the risks of breast MRI for newly diagnosed breast cancer patients; understand the surgeon's point of view with respect to the utilization of breast MRI prior to surgical excision; and understand the role of second-look ultrasound and MRI-guided biopsy following preoperative MRI performed to assess the extent of disease.
