Target Audience:
The Difficult Airway Course: Virtual 2021™ is intended for all healthcare providers tasked with management of the difficult and failed airway. This includes Emergency Physicians, Anesthesiologists, Intensivists, Hospitalists, Nurse Anesthetists (CRNA), Physician Assistants, Anesthesiologist Assistants, Respiratory Therapists, Paramedics, Flight Nurses, and Critical Care Transport Nurses.

Objectives:
The overarching objective of The Difficult Airway Course portfolio of educational offerings is to present a conceptual and practical evidence-based framework for the evaluation and management of patients with a difficult and/or failed airway. This approach accommodates contextual and experiential factors taht impact how patients are managed by different practitioners.
Specific Objectives of The Difficult Airway Course: Virtual 2021 are:
• Identify the potentially difficult airway and recognize the unanticipated difficult and failed airway.
• Determine the appropriate evidence-based, systematic approach for the management of the anatomically and physiologically difficult and failed airway.
• Understand the airway management medications, including their advantages and hazards.
• Recall how to perform the core techniques of difficult & failed airway management, including bag-mask ventilation, extraglottic device use, rapid sequence intubation, awake intubation, and cricothyrotomy.
• Select the appropriate devices and techniques needed to manage difficult and failed airway scenarios, including when and how to use them.
• Recall communication and team leadership techniques to optimize airway management.
• Extrapolate how the information learned from the first three sections of the Course lead to effective difficult and failed airway management.
A Cancellation Fee of 10% of the tuition paid will apply to all course cancellations requested up to 14 days prior to start of Course. No refunds will be issued for cancellations requested within 14 days of the course start date.
No refunds will be granted to those who do not attend the Course without having made prior arrangements for cancellation or transfer.
If a registrant tests positive for COVID or another communicable disease, they may cancel their registration up to the start of the course. A 10% cancellation fee will be assessed. Proof of positive test will be required to initiate refund.
Alternatively, registrants may transfer to another course with no transfer or cancellation fee.
A credit for a future course will be offered to any attendee who leaves during the Course because of COVID-19 symptoms or positive test.
If Airway Management Education Center (AMEC) is required to cancel a course due to safety concerns, all attendees will receive a 100% refund or may transfer to another course.
