Needs Statement:
There is inadequate utilization of the most appropriate treatment for prescription drug abuse. There is a lack of understanding of costs of untreated and treated prescription drug addiction and of the levels of care for treatment.

Upon completion of this educational activity, you will be able to:
• Describe the total costs and consequences of prescription drug abuse on medical care (total stakeholder burden)
• Discuss the treatment costs of prescription drug abuse
• List the ASAM Criteria of Levels of Care for treatment
