This online, animated module provides you and your care team with an overview on prediabetes as a treatable condition. You will be exposed to the epidemiology of prediabetes, the evidence for the intervention of the diabetes prevention program, and how patients can be identified and referred to a CDC recognized program.
Upon completion of this educational activity, the physician will be able to:
• Describe the clinical practice burden and trends in prediabetes and type 2 diabetes
• Review the evidence that supports systematically screening patients for prediabetes, and referring to a community-based program, like the National Diabetes Prevention Program, to prevent type 2 diabetes
• Identify the tools available to identify patients with prediabetes and establish a referral process
Additional details will be posted as soon as they are available.
