Nursing Management of Tumor Lysis Syndrome (TLS) Course is organized by i3 Health and will be held from Oct 04, 2018 - Oct 03, 2020. This Conference has been approved for a maximum of 1.0 ANCC contact hour.

Target Audience:
Oncology nurses, nurse practitioners, clinical nurse specialists, and other health care professionals involved in the treatment of various tumor types.

Description:
Tumor lysis syndrome (TLS) is an oncological emergency characterized by hyperuricemia, hyperkalemia, hyperphosphatemia, and hypocalcemia. These electrolyte imbalances may be severe enough to cause acute renal failure, cardiac arrhythmias, seizures, and even death. While there are prophylactic measures that greatly reduce the severity of TLS and its manifestations, patients at risk for TLS must be identified and treated prior to the appearance of either laboratory or clinical symptoms to effectively reduce or prevent the syndrome.

Objectives:
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
• Identify the signs and symptoms of clinical and laboratory tumor lysis syndrome
• Identify the risk factors for tumor lysis syndrome in specific patient populations
• Implement best supportive care practices for patients with tumor lysis syndrome

Additional details will be posted as soon as they are available.
