This activity is a one hour recording of a webinar facilitated by Drs. Rebecca Perkins, Sharon Humiston, Kristin Oliver discussing the diseases and cancers caused by HPV, the safety and effectiveness of currently available HPV vaccinations, rationale for the two dose schedule and effectiveness of early vaccination, as well as evidence-based recommendations for improving HPV vaccination rates. The overall goal is to improve knowledge about HPV and HPV vaccination and to give providers tools and motivation to make strong recommendations to their patients. This activity is provided in partnership with the American Academy of Pediatrics.
• Describe the latest data on HPV cancers, HPV immunization rates, HPV vaccine effectiveness and safety
• Identify effective HPV communication strategies that all office staff can use to promote HPV vaccination
• Describe office-based strategies to improve HPV vaccination rates
• Explain the most current information about the HPV vaccination of mid-adults
