EUS Guided Tissue Sampling Techniques: Cytology and Biopsy (DV040) is organized by American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE) and will be held during May 01, 2008 - Jan 31, 2020.

Description:
This CME activity consists of the ASGE video, EUS Guided Tissue Sampling Techniques: Cytology and Biopsy, followed by a post-assessment and evaluation.

This video discusses the use of endoscopic ultrasound to obtain fine needle aspiration samples for cytology and trucut biopsy for histology. Indications, contraindications and complications of each procedure are reviewed, as well as the methods employed in handling each specimen type.

Learning Objectives:
As a result of completing this activity, physicians will be able to:
• Determine when to perform EUS-guided fine needle aspiration.
• Determine when to perform EUS-guided trucut biopsy.
• Identify the proper methods of specimen handling for EUS-guided fine needle aspiration and trucut biopsy.
