Conference Description:
This course outlines the indications, patient factors, and alternatives when making the decision for tracheotomy in adult and pediatric patients.
This course covers the breadth of decision-making in tracheostomy for adult and pediatric patients. It reviews the history of the procedure as well as indications, individual patient factors, potential complications, and alternatives to the procedure.

At the conclusion of this activity, the participant should be better able to:
• Describe the indications for tracheostomy in pediatric and adult patients.
• Identify patient factors that influence the decision regarding tracheostomy.
