Americans with Disabilities Act: Introduction, History, and Overview is organized by AAACEUs. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 4 Credit Hours.
This course presents the history of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), providing a review of the law, who it protects, and enforcement of the regulations. In addition, there is a special section regarding employment specific rules and accommodations that can be made for those with disabilities. The course provides an excellent overview of the law, but also functions as reference material for future use when confronted with an ADA specific scenario.
• List the five titles that make up the ADA
• As outlined by the ADA law, define "disability" and distinguish between conditions that do not qualify as such
• As outlined by the ADA law, describe what qualifies as "reasonable accommodation" and what does not
• Compare and contrast the responsibilities of both employers and employees under the ADA title 1 regulation
• Describe how the ADA law is enforced, identifying what classifies as a special situation in employment.
