Alloimmunization – Basic Science and Clinical Experience is organized by the American Association of Blood Banks (AABB). This Online CME course is held from Oct 2, 2019 - Jul 28, 2022. This online session has been for a maximum of 1 continuing education credits/contact hours.

Dr. Stowell will present an update on recent research reports that defines the mechanisms for alloimmunization to transfusion. Host and blood product risk factors will be addressed, including the strategies to lessen the risk of alloimmunization.
By the conclusion of this online session, attendees should be able to:
• Describe mechanisms correlated with alloimmunization to blood products.
• Outline risk factors for RBC alloimmunization.
• Define procedures used to prevent alloimmunization in transfusion recipients.
